As our government clients offer more services online, GovWebworks is providing increased emphasis on usability and responsiveness. The following awards for our clients offer proof that the experts are noticing the difference.
Summit Awards for Idaho and Washington
A Silver and Bronze award in the Government Website category of the 2016 Summit Creative Awards went to the Live Better Idaho citizen portal (Silver) and the Washington Department of Social and Health Services site (Bronze).
The Summit Creative Awards recognize creative and technical achievement by small- to medium-sized agencies. This year’s awards were particularly competitive, with more than 5,000 submissions from 21 agencies. Entries are evaluated with a stringent set of standards. Judges search for and identify innovative and creative concepts. They also look for strong execution and user experience, as well as the ability to communicate and persuade. Idaho and Washington were recognized alongside the LA Department of Public Heath, the State of Utah, and the U.S. Department of Labor.
“Our goal has been to provide a user-centered experience to help state agencies drive online engagement,” says Creative Director Christopher Prinn. “The award is validation of our efforts to deliver innovative solutions in the area of public services.”
Webby Honoree for Washington
As well as the Summit award, the Washington Department of Social and Health Services received a 2016 Webby Honoree. This follows Webby recognition in 2015 for Idalink, the state of Idaho’s benefits portal.
Known as “the leading international award recognizing excellence on the internet,” the Webby Awards are judged by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences. The 20th annual awards received nearly 13,000 entries from almost all 50 states and 65 countries worldwide.
The Washington site was rebuilt from the ground up, and included migrating more than 10,000 pages into a new, fully-responsive, ADA compliant solution. The project took a little under six months to complete ahead of schedule. Since launch it has greatly enhanced service delivery for the citizens of Washington.
Acting Secretary for the Department, Pat Lashway, played a direct role in the project in her previous position as Assistant Secretary for the Enterprise Support Administration. She was very happy with the project outcome. “Your company helped us take our desire to better serve our community’s needs and make it a reality,” she stated. “The site incorporates the needs of our professional community, our staff and agency partners, and the residents of Washington State who use our services.”
