How to engage mobile citizens

As we reported in How to Use Digital Communications to Build Citizen Engagement, 1-in-10 American adults are “smartphone-only” internet users, according to Pew. These users can only access the internet via smartphone, because they do not have traditional home broadband service.
With these statistics in mind, we decided to illustrate our first ever(!) infographic with 16 key features to assure citizens can access online content via mobile devices.
What are the factors that contribute to the best design, accessibility, usability, and searchability for mobile users? Data from Pew, along with tips from Google, DigitalGov, and W3C, make this a comprehensive visual reminder of best practices for public sector mobile design.
